Psalmettes

Gloria is a former public school teacher. She received both her bachelor’s degrees from Pacific Christian College, now, Hope International University. Having an educational and theology degree, Gloria has served in many capacities: jail ministires, worship leader, pianist, Sunday School Coordinator, Women’s Activities Minister and Bible Study Leader.

This lovely woman of God with a voice sent from Heaven has enjoyed using her teaching skills in the public educaion system of California. She enjoyed spreading the love of God by creating vivid, exciting and academic rich instruction for her students.  Gloria later went on to meet her first husaband, an Indian man from Hyderabad who was an engineer working at USC (University Of Southern California) and Northrope. Although he had not accepted Christ during the majority of their marriage, my mother called on him to help missionaries in India- he did help them. Manohar was able to call upon his friends in India to provide resources, protection and permission for two female missionaries to teach on the Bible. Upon getting Cancer in Manohar’s middle aged years he accepted the Lord in a quiet way. Pastors who came to visit him in the hospital noticed that the Bible had been opened and read by him! He prayed with the pastors who visited him. Finally, when Gloria prayed “if he is yours Lord, take him home,” he passed away the very next morning.

Gloria has always been a strong woman of the Most High God. Years later, she was reunited with an old boyfriend from Bible College (P.C.C.), whose wife had passed. Gene, had always loved her voice in the Psalmettes and he was also in a male quartet with his brothers when they were in college together at P.C.C. They fell in love and got married. God is good! All the time.

The two went on to minister in Los Angeles and Gene was able to earn his bachelor’s degree from Hope International University and serve as Associate Pastor in Monrovia, California.
